En la Polonia profunda y junto a la frontera con Bielorrusia, hay un pequeño monte repleto de cruces, que el paso del tiempo confunde con pinos y vegetación. Se trata del Monte Sagrado de Grabarka donde cada año por la festividad de la Trasfiguración de Cristo, el 19 de Agosto, la Iglesia Ortodoxa polaca realiza su peregrinación más importante. Tantas cruces se cuentan que Grabarka se conoce también como “El monte de las 6.000 cruces”.
