The historic and cultural Tibet is comprised of the three traditional provinces of Amdo to the north, Kham to the east and Ü-Tsang to the west.
Amdo is now split into the Chinese provinces of Qinghai, Gansu & Sichuan. Kham is largely incorporated into the provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan and Qinghai. Ü-Tsang, which, together with western Kham, is today referred to by China as the Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR).
The photographs in this book have all been captured in the two provinces of Kham and Amdo, in the eastern parts of Tibet.

Jørgens book is not primarily about capturing good pictures of people in daily situations, their culture and scenery in a hidden part of the world, but it is indeed a book about the pure art of photography. Recommended ! Erik Løvli
