Herman Snell is a father, Jackson, MS native, Eagle Scout, writer, poet & kinetic abstract painter who incorporates movement in his art. He is a 32° Master Mason, Knight Templar & an Adeptus Exemptus in the Societas Rosicruciana in Civitatibus Foederatis. Since 2001 he has been the music & arts editor for the alternative news weekly the Jackson Free Press; & was the director of the Crossroads Film Festival from 2004-2009. He has written for alternative music, surreal prose, experimental film, futurist, lateral thinking & philosophy periodicals.
His nature is that of the free-thinking, philosophical, non-political, creative, eclectic, eccentric stream of consciousness, go with the flow, no worries, unconventional & just plain weird.
He seeks inspiration through his painting & writing parties; music, film, art, Dada, the avant garde, Oulipo, Surrealism, insanity, Zen, Tao, Sufism, synchronicity, lateral thinking, going with the flow, possibility, good conversation & the unknown.
