About the Book
This book by Burt and Mae Dean Northam is a picture log depicting three months of working as volunteers for Water Missions International in Malawi, Africa in the spring of 2010. Also included are pictures that capture the culture and the beauty of nature in Malawi.
Safe water availability is at a crisis level in most of Africa and certainly in Malawi. Burt helped install gravity-fed chlorinator systems in three villages while Mae Dean trained trainers to go into households and teach WASH - WAter, Sanitation and Hygiene.
Burt and Mae Dean also surveyed the Keseye Region where there is water flowing down the mountain, but funding is needed for a distribution system to get it to the 13,000 people in the valley.
