This biography is about my Dad, Siu Kit Wah B.E.M.(蕭傑華), through the eyes of his growing son in Colonial time. He went on to serve 4 governors, from Sir David Trench to Lord David Wilson. He prepared everything from finger food to dinner parties for the Kings and Queens and many foreign dignitaries in a time span of more than 30 years. There were stressful moments and interesting anecdotes. I thought it would be nice to tell his stories so that the grandchildren and their progenies would get to know this gentle chef.

I would like to describe myself as an accidental writer and believe I have written more business plans than essays and novels. I write sporadically for leisure and it is more for fun and should not be taken seriously.

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers……...” (KJV Malachi 4:5-6; the last verse of the Old Testament)
Only true love can bring a family together.
We have just finished reading this scripture when we received your email. It is a delight to see how a son shows his love to his father.
In a tough world like this, where love was ended before it begun, it is nice that people can find the warmth of family relationship through your story. We are touched by the love that is woven between the pages.
Congratulations on the publication of your book.
