About the Book
The Forgotten State is a detailed photo essay that examines the Montana hardcore and indie music scene. The book documents the bands, the people, and the venues that make music possible throughout the state.
All profits from the sale of this book go to support the addition of an all-ages music venue in Bozeman, MT. Currently there is no safe drug and alcohol free location for the youth of Bozeman to enjoy music. Hopefully this book will help change that.

Born in Helena, MT in 1983 I grew up with an intense love of music and admiration for the people who made it. After returning to Montana in 2003 I began to take an interest in the bands around the state. I started to document the Montana music scene in late 2003, and haven't stopped since. The Forgotten State documents the indie and hardcore music coming out of Montana from Spring 2006- WInter 2007.
