Born in Alameda, California, Michael has lived all over the west, including such places as Sonora, California, (near Yosemite), Boise, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah. His love of wildlife and wild places began as a small child when his father took him on what would become many camping and backpacking trips through the Sierra-Nevada mountains. Michael currently lives in Provo, Utah and hopes to publish more books about Yellowstone and other wonderful wild places in the western United States.
