A summer in Margate, NJ as seen in black and white thru the lens of TheLASIKDoc.
I am an ophthalmologist and LASIK surgeon living and practicing in Northern NJ. I have always loved taking photos since my early teenage years. I have no formal training in photography, although I took some photo classes while in college at Boston University. I also took some classes at the New School in NYC during my summers of Med School.
I used to do all my own B&W developing in my own darkroom when younger. Once the kids started coming (I have 3, aged 25, 22, and 20), the darkroom made its way into boxes in my basement.
Digital photography has allowed me to get back into photography in a big way. I now shoot exclusively digital with my new Nikon D3S and Leica M8 cameras. They are both awesome cameras. I mostly shoot in B&W, and do all my own archival printing.
My office is filled with both my prints from over the years, and prints that I collect. My patients seem to enjoy looking at all my prints.
I hope you enjoy my work, I look forward to your feedback!

Just a few words to say how much I enjoyed viewing you Jershey Shore photo book. I'm a huge fan or B/W photography and try as much as I can to shoot in B/W but often just revert back to colour only! Do you shoot in B/W or convert your photos to B/W in post-processing? I use a Nikon D80 which has the B/W in camera feature, but rarely use it. I was also wondering what you use to print (archival) all your own prints. My husband is a dentist and we'd like to start hanging some of my photography in his new clinic. Just wondering...
Thanks for sharing your photography on your website and blurb.com.
Have a great day!
