About the Book
"My Hart wer Broken," no, that's not a typo. This book has been painstakingly transcribed from the original hand written journals left to me by my Grandmother, Ollie Bell Hughes.
The journals recount Ollie's life as a child in Toccoa, Georgia through her adult life in Chattanooga, Tennessee plus the numerous stops along the way. As Ollie wrote: "I've told the good and I've told the bad."
This book will draw you in as Ollie tells her stories in her own words and in her own way.

Grandaughter of Ollie Bell Hughes. I was given these journals when I was ten years old and have kept them through the years. Because there are so many descendents of Ollie Bell Hughes and John Henry Crow that have never had the chance to read the journals, I have transcribed them into this format. I hope that each of Ollie's children's children will cherish Ollie's journals as I have for years to come.
