The life, work and contributions of Dr. Jack Armstrong . . .
I was born and raised in Dauphin, Manitoba and then moved to Winnipeg when I entered nursing. After getting my R. N. I worked for a number of years in Obstetrics @ the Health Science Centre [ Womens Center] as an assistant Head Nurse.
I met and married Jack when he was working as a probation officer for the city of Wpg. We were married in 1964 when he was in 2nd year medicine. Our oldest daugther, Jeanne was born in 1968 and we adopted Carolyn in 1971. In 1979 Jack & I co-founded Project Opikihiwawin which was a support for families who had adopted or fostered aboriginal children. I continued for the next 20 years working as a full time volunteer in this cross cultural area of adoption. I am now 70 and am still busy learning & enjoying what life has to offer. Photography, gardening, rock collecting, Blurb book making and computing are only a few of my interests and passions.
I volunteer at Creative Retirement Mb and teach Blurb classes there as we
I still reside in Winnipeg,MB
