I have struggled with weight issues all of my life. I am quite often skeptical of fitness books because I am reluctant to believe a trainer can relate to a 50 year old woman who is not destined for athletic greatness. I found this book to be an exception to the rule. I enjoyed the personal stories in the book of people who are more "normal" than the people who generally write books proclaiming to have the key to personal fitness. It is a book with a simple premise...real people...setting realistic goals and achieving them. Dawn does not define Goddess in a way that it out of reach to the average reader. It is easy to picture yourself in their shoes. It is a good read particularly if getting into the gym (or just off the couch) is something that you need or want to do.

I read this book in one sitting from cover to cover. The way the stories are told make it so relevant and east to relate to. It is not one of those fitness books that leaves you feeling inadequate. It is full of real stories of real people who experienced hurdles like we all do, yet stayed the course to achieve their goals. So well written, moving and motivational! A great read!

I read the book on a flight home after a Rim to Rim hiking trip at the Grand Canyon. It was very inspiring, motivational...and real! Within days I learned a niece of mine always finishes last in her cross country races...I'm buying another copy of the book for her!
