Visual Artist, Susan Wolf answers a juried call for entries for a themed show of work displaying Melancholy. Her submission, true to the paramaters of melancholy is a series of photographs documenting a constructed thin black paper line 60 ft. in length. The line is documented in different situations and locations. Her submission however, is not selected. The line, infused with additional melancholy begins to insinuate itself into different situations that speak to her archiving and study of line or situations that further document unfortunate events or locations she herself longs to be found in. Down and out people she encounters in her neighborhood and / or sightings of recent road kills - both are images difficult to shake.
