Canada Dance Festival June 9th 2010 Shenkman Arts Centre, Ottawa, Canada
by D. Brian Campbell
Between energy and emotion, vitality and interiority, En Dedans vibrates with an ardent tenderness. On a bare stage, light shines through the fabric of the dancers' diaphanous costumes, warmly penetrates their bodies and dilates time, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. The dancers' senses are on the alert. They touch, feel, and look at each other. Silence; their eyes are closed, they count out loud, they guide each other and whisper secrets to each other. At times meditative, at times percussive, the music echoes "the noise of living things" inside us, en dedans.
