Pinhole and Plastic, shots on a beach is a collection of images made with a variety of Pinhole and Toy Cameras with Plastic lenses.
The images attempt to present fleeting moments that will transport the viewer to a memory of a moment in the past, a feeling that invokes a response maybe with mixed emotions.
Our time on the beach is so fleeting. I want to capture these moments but retain that delicate balance between the reality of now and memory.

This is my second book here on Blurb.

About the Author

Ky Lewis
kylewis1 London, United Kingdom.
I am a Krappy plastic camera lover, expired film, 110mm, 35mm or 120 and instant, anything that allows me to make tasty looking images. A lot of my cameras are also lomo and multiple exposures or multiframed is also a passion. I'm a full time mother of three fitting in a little bit of creativity around all the mundane things in life. I would say I'm an amateur photographer who has been lucky to exhibit , sell and have worked published in print and online, Some of the work is held privately and in photo collections. I prefer a more experimental approach to image making and choose to use toycameras, vintage cameras and pinholes, the latter are often homemade. I use expired film and a lot of this may be cross processed as well. Thank you for taking the time to look at my books, you may also find me on a search under kylewis!

I absolutely love this book. I am a student in my final year of college and based my major project on pinhole as i fell in love with the technique when I was introduced to it 3 years ago. I tend to handmake my own cameras and use paper to produce my negatives yet you have inspired me to experiment with film pinhole and plastic lenses.
This book is most definitely on my wish list!

Visions très personnelles et très originales. Un peu l'anthithèse de ce que je montre mais j'aime beaucoup ce très beau travail.

I have been a fan of Ky Lewis ever since we "met" on the Lomographic website. His images are moving and instantly recognizable from the soft ghostly images taken by pinhole or the crazy saturated and vignetted images from the plastic cameras. This is a great book and well worth adding to anyone's collection. This is real, folks, not Photoshop!

A precious trinket in a square format. With somewhat dreamy pictures in a mystical atmosphere. It reminds me of times long ago with never ending holidays.

Ky Lewis proves with this photo-book that he is a versatile artist in lo-fi photography. I'm glad I bought this book and recommend it to anyone who wants something special.
