About the Book
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times...
TRAVEL is the catalyst for my non-scholastic "Theory of a Better Life".
To put it simply - it makes me happy. So, how do you improve on something that makes you happy? You share it with someone! Typically, my wife Anna and I sit down (usually on the plane ride home from the trip we just finished) and contemplate "where are we going next?" After spending a week in gorgeous Alberta Canada (May 2009), Anna said she'd like to see the fall foliage of the North East United States. I think my response may have been "...huh?"
Fast Forward to September 13-17, 2010. We found ourselves in Vermont & New Hampshire.
Together. Smiling, relaxing, enjoying, and celebrating Anna's birthday (Sept 15th) in the North East United States. Perhaps we were a little bit early in the season to capture the fall foliage of the region; but, we were happy.
Reflecting on our 5-Day Getaway, it is difficult to narrate our emotional experience; however, I truly hope that the photography captured throughout this region will translate our story and provide a glimpse of our fall journey.
Whether it was the charmfully preserved character of our home away from home at The Woodstock Inn & Resort www.woodstockinn.com (Woodstock, VT); the beautiful scenic drives through Vermont's Green Mountains, and winding backcountry roads; the non-commercial "small town America" innocence, beauty, and support for the local businesses and farmers; or, the peaceful rivers, calming lakes, inspiring hikes, and breathtaking vistas of New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest.
This is our VERMONT. This is our New Hampshire. This is our happy.
About the Creator
"The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page" ~St. Augustine For lack of better words... I am a traveler, attempting to be an amateur photographer, while pretending to be a journalist; BUT… I’m really just a husband, father, fun-loving, sarcastic, cycling fan, who thrives on learning as much as I can about the world, so I started a travel blog at http://austinglobetrekker.wordpress.com. Austin GlobeTrekker is all about sharing TRAVEL stories, photos, and experiences from my hometown (Austin, TX) and my travels around the globe. The goal is to collect stories and photos from friends and family and along the way... hopefully meet new friends and encourage others to travel and learn from one another. So Join the Conversation!
