"The Shadow and the Soul" is a collection of poetry and lyrics by Terry Fatland from 1987-2010.

The Shadow represents the negative emotions, such as despair, anger, worry, doubt, and so on, while the Soul represents the positive emotions, such as optimism, joy, passion, appreciation, etc.

The Shadow is also the aspect that we try to hide from society. However, it surfaces when we judge ourselves and others. Many individuals suppress this Shadow Self through escapism.

As spiritual beings, we have the ability to face the Shadow Self. We can approach our problems from a positive frame of mind which re-connects us back to our loving Soul.

The Soul is our connection to God, and with God, all things are possible.
