About the Book
"Beginning to Teach", is our inaugural effort to publish new teachers' inquiry. Our goal is to spread the word, literally, that first and second year teachers are pushing the edge of knowledge forward about what works for students. They are discovering how to engage students in learning, to share subject matter in ways that personalize education, to connect project based instuction to the adult world, and meet a diverse range of learning needs. Developing habits of mind that result in reflective teaching practice; thoughtfulness, equitable experiences, differentiated instruction, willingness to share practice...this is what the HTH BTSA/Induction program strives to model and offer teachers. We invite you to read, discuss, and put into practice the inquiry findings of our 2009-2010 new teachers.
