An intimate view of the 2nd Amsterdamse Cello Biënnale with its many participants; celebrated soloists and upcoming talent.
For nine days, the Muziekgebouw and Bimhuis in Amsterdam, state of the art contemporary music venues, were alive with the music of Berio, Xenakis, but also (for breakfast !), Bach as well as Beethoven or Stravinski.
Concerts, masterclasses, workshops and the National Cello Concours drew thousands of aficionados, but still, an atmosphere of intimacy prevailed.
A warm and personal reportage by a photographer who is obviously much at home with the subject.
