A novel of modern Iraq
Nathan Rabe, also known as ‘’Ajnabi’ is a photographer of Anglo-Indian heritage whose powerful images of (primarily) the Indian subcontinent have been receiving increasing critical praise in recent years. He is self taught but with a photographic heritage that stretches back to the earliest days of photography in India. Indeed, while initially universally dismissed, Rabe’s claims to be linked to the person who took the very first picture in India is now accepted by most critics and scholars of Indian photography.
