If you like South African steam and you missed the opportunity to go yourself this book is for you!

Inside you'll find 78 wonderful full colour photographs depicting many of the classes of steam locomotives that ran in this scenic country.

As a taster the front cover shows a class 15F hauling a passenger train on a cold Cape Province morning. Articulated power is not left out either, as there are plenty of Beyer-Garrat locomotives featured too.

Well known English railway photographer
Alan Crotty made several trips to the African continent in the 1990's and has made a selection of his evocative images available for this publication.

All the images have been scanned from 35mm Fujichrome transparencies and are true images and unless stated without any digital manipulation.
