About the Book
My red wagon was packed and loaded up. I had food provisions, materials for a shelter, cooking and eating utensils. I took off across the backyard, from the Land of Grass to the Barren Wastelands. I was off to conquer the uncertainty of the other side of the house!
But now… Now I have 3 kids of my own. And they get to live these adventures too! In a more real way than they can actually grasp for their age. They’ve chased chickens in villages, eaten hot peppers, danced at circumcision parties, and shared a community water cup at the local mosque.
Since moving to Turkey, I’ve started to pick up my camera more. It’s allowed me to see with the eyes of a child again. I’m not just “doing” life here. I’m also seeing and observing new things that I wouldn’t have otherwise noticed had I just passed through.
Now our family is on this adventure together, and we’re loving (almost) every minute of it!
