This book contains photos of paintings executed outdoors in the landscape (en plein air) by members of the organization, Plein Air Washington. The text of the book includes statements and commentary about the artists reasons, thoughts and methods of painting. It also includes some biographical information about the artists.

Jane Wallis received her Bachelor’s degree in art at the Southwest Missouri State University and continued her education at the University of Missouri at Kansas City in art education. She has taught art classes and workshops for many years.
An exhibition record has spanned 30 years during which time she has accumulated numerous awards. She is a Master Pastelist in the Pastel Society of America, a Distinguished Pastelist in the West Coast Pastel Society and the Northwest Pastel Society and a Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society. As an associate member her work has been included in Oil Painters of America exhibits for several years. Volunteer work for some of these organizations and Plein Air Washington, has been to create flyers, catalogs and other publications. Washington "En Plein Air" is her first published book.
