The "Italian Sketchbook" started as an art project, an artist's journal of a week in Italy. The timely discovery of Aldous Huxley's "The Best Picture" essay which I had to write out on my sketchbook pages, to fully absorb, inspired my own essay of an artistic and cultural quest in Tuscany.
