About the Book
These are the private memoirs of a soldier who fought with the 24th Infantry, the longest-serving Army Division in the Pacific theater in WWII.
This story takes us through his personal accounts of 6 separate landings, including Leyte, Luzon and Mindanao.
The author compiled these by hand at the request of his two daughters. Upon learning of them, I asked to make copies, and committed his words to book form. It is intended as an heirloom to the Bergman family, and to anyone interested in keeping alive the individual stories of the war.
