Photographer and filmmaker, Alan Tucker, has lived in Bow for the last 25 years. During this time the Docklands have been transformed, the Olympic Park is being constructed, and regeneration continues eastwards along the Thames.
This book offers a resident's view of this vibrant and exciting area as it continues to change.
I have lived in London for most of my life, and in Bow for the last 25 years. During that time huge changes have transformed Docklands and the East End. The changes continue; I guess we're only half-way there!
I've been photographing the world around me since I was at school.
A couple of years ago I produced a film called "A Picture of East London" with local artist, Gillian Burrows. In it we went behind the scenes to interview some extraordinary Londoners. It is out on DVD and available from www.wharf.tv.
My book depicts the rapidly changing urban landscape of East London. Like the film it is an insider's view of the city I know and love.
