About the Book
After receiving the RIBA Barrington Smith Travel Award, Vinesh Pomal was fortunate to have his dear friend, Simon Drayson accompany him on his travels. His original proposal [seeing how the city of Bhuj has been rebuilt - both architecturally and socially - following a devestating earthquake in 2001] extended to include the Northern States of India. This enabled Simon and Vinesh to experience a diverse range of contexts first hand from both a phenomenological and pragmatic approach respective of thier individual architectural interests. Their collaboration provided a dialgoue of differences in search of new shared experiences and a new found understanding of self.
