About the Book
This book represents the photographic collaborations with a young man I first encountered during my senior year in college and would continue for seven creative years. His name was Tim, he was 19, and he had never modeled before. These photographs are proof it didn't take him long to catch on. The setting is an old barn on the northern coast of California were he became very familiar with the terrain. Tim was boyishly charming, full of budding innocence, not overtly animated but filled with energy. He inspired me and made photography fun, never boring, and totally rewarding. He soon developed the rare ability to transform my creative ideas into breathtaking, spectacular realities. Quite simply, he was amazing! I invite you to take the tour and see for yourself.
"We are all voyeurs, all trespassers in the arena of intimacy" wrote Michael Pellerin. By nature, I am a voyeur and my camera has served as a passport into the lives of many men, allowing a study of their idiosyncrasies and the incredible geography of their bodies and faces. The powerful triangular rapport created by the photographer and model and captured by the camera continues fascinate me. In photographing the male nude, I try to be as open with my feelings as I can be. All we know is what we feel; all else is merely assumption. Photographing men nude is a curious, sentimental journey into the world of my intellectual and emotional feelings. The results are proud, confident, desirable objects of sexual beauty. In reality, honest representations of what men are capable of being. Education: BA in Art; Minor in Photography San Jose State University
