About the Book
Washington in White is a collection of photographs that I took during the February, 2010 blizzards which were fondly called, “Snowmageddon” and “Snowpocalypse” by residents of D.C. and the surrounding mid-Atlantic regions. The photographs were taken on my walk around the city one day after the storms, in an effort to capture the essence and beauty of the snow-covered landscapes, as well as some of the architectural icons of the Cleveland Park, Kalorama, and Dupont Circle neighborhoods -- about which I have also included some historical background information. The book features two quotes about snow: one by Dr. Seuss (after the intro page), and another by a 19th century Scottish poet (on the back cover).
