This project began in August 2009 when I bought a red top hat from a vintage shop on Brick Lane in London. The idea was to put together a series of portraits with different people and different themes in different locations. The resulting images would all be tied together by the presence of the top hat.

I finally finished the project in December 2010 and this book features the 59 portraits plus 25 out-takes that were too special not to be seen.
