Click to preview A BOOK OF THE SAINTS photo book

Quilt historian Barbara Brackman has created 26 photo collages celebrating patron saints especially for quilters. Lost a scissors? Adding another UFO (unfinished object) to the pile? Worried about your reds bleeding? There's a saint for that.
This little book makes a terrific gift for textile artists of all types.

I'm commenting! This intriguing book would be a lovely addition to my iPad, thank you! My email is quilted@comcast.net and I leave this in public view only as you assured me this whole post will disappear tomorrow, so the bots won't get my address. I previewed this book last year and am intrigued by the scholarly writing and lovely collage work. I admire both!

This small (c. 6 1/2" x 6 3/4") book contains beautiful "photoshopped" collages composed mostly of fine art and iconic images of Saints who could be helpful to quilter combined with vintage photos and images of quilts, fabric, thread, sewing machines, etc. The images can be cut out and framed for inspiration or intervention in the sewing room -- I chose Saint Anne, patron saint of seamstresses. The images are very cleverly done and reward close scrutiny -- this is Barbara Brackman, our quilt historian, as accomplished artist.

No they are not quilts at all, but photographic collages.

I have enjoyed Barbara Brackman's other books about quilting. Are these actual quilts? I can't tell from the preview.
