About the Book
Vast open spaces, stunning rugged landscapes, gorgeous beaches, geothermal and volcanic activity, deep native forests, snow capped mountains, lakes like mirrors, roaring waterfalls, unspoiled coastlines and a fascinating animal and plant life, that is New Zealand. While for sure there a many beautiful places and landscapes to see on this planet there are little with this amount of variation in such a relatively small area. Where else in the world you can see the ocean, rain forest and glaciers at the same time. It is a country which won't leave indifferent anybody who came to discover it. Comparable in size and/or shape to Great Britain, Colorado or Japan, New Zealand has a population of only 4 million - making it one of the world's least crowded countries.
I grew up close to the palatinate forest in southern Germany, just ten minutes from the French boarder. Since my childhood I feel very close to nature and I love to spend my time outside. One of my favorite memories is, of course, the school holidays, when I was able to spend these days with my grandparents hiking this beautiful area of Germany, with its amazing landscapes and castles. I remember my mother telling me that there must be some Gypsy blood running through my veins as there was nothing that could keep me at home. Always on the move, nothing keeps me long in one place. Even if they are beautiful and I meet a lot of nice people... there is always this little voice, calling me, telling me to keep on moving, to keep on discovering this beautiful planet full of fascinating things and places. 4 years ago I had the wish to keep some of these fantastic moments not only for me in my memories and what better way than to capture them with my camera and to share them here with you.
