Pietro’s interest in travel developed into a passion for photography when he decided to bring his grandfather’s 1950s Rolleiflex with him while traveling to the North Cape, Norway.
Since then, his love for nature and the outdoors has continued to inform his personal interpretation of the places he photographs.
His mentors on this path are the naturalist photographers of the American school and their use of light as language.
He works and lives between his hometown in Umbria, Italy and Montreal, Canada. He has been a professional photographer since 2005.

Wow; so many stunning photographs, so much interesting photographic technique and so well designed. With Gaspesie, Petro Canali has created a glorious book.
