This is the first book by the author whose own mother was raised in the cities of Palma and Soller located on the Balearic Island of Mallorca.
It was here that Louis returned as a toddler with his twin brother and younger sister with their mother Annie, while her husband, an active duty member of the US Army was stationed first at Korea, and later at Vietnam. Louis' first language in fact was Spanish.
It wasn't till 2009, at the age of 49, that Louis finally returned to Mallorca with his parents.
As you glance through these pages you'll find images that reflect both the land and people of Palma and Soller.
This book is dedicated to Annie Marie Morell Ferra.
Louis' love for photography began as a Senior in High School when at that time he purchased his first camera. In 1979 he made the decision to join the US Navy and served in the Armed Forces from 1979 - 1996. While in the Navy he focused on developing his skills as a photographer. In 1986 Louis became a Navy Bio-Medical Photographer and through that training honed his skills even further. Upon retiring from active service in October 1996, Louis has continued to work in the field he so loves. Pursuing any opportunity he could find that would both challenge him and mold him.. Louis has always had a love and passion for people, wildlife and the outdoors. It drives him to continuously capture unique and distinctive images conveying through these images his love of God and His wonderful creation. Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
