About the Creator
Founded in 1966, Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) inspires people and institutions to protect the natural world. Located at the confluence of the Pine and Chippewa Rivers, our 1,200 acres features more than 15 miles of trails through woodland, wetland, field and riverine ecosystems. Open year-round, visitors enjoy hands-on exhibits in our Visitor Center, which includes a wildlife viewing area, kids discovery stations and a store. A reconstructed 1870s Homestead Farm is open on summer Sundays. Public programs for all ages include a Maple Syrup Day festival in March, Fall Harvest Festival and Bio-Blitz events in autumn, and dozens of hikes, workshops, field trips and more throughout the year. Vibrant youth offerings include summer Nature Day Camp, school and scout programs and a nature-based preschool.
