That I May Always Plant Trees
A Lithuanian Prayer
by photos by Mary Lee Dereske
About the Book
Now ostensibly Christian, Lithuania's religious heritage rests on a beautiful ancient mythology. This small treasure is an adaptation of a pagan Lithuanian prayer, translated into English.
The prayer is beautifully illustrated with Lithuanian scenes by photographer Mary Lee Dereske. Of Lithuanian descent, Mary Lee visited Lithuania in the summer of 2009, a mere 20 years after LIthuania fought to reclaim its independence from the USSR. Her images help the reader to touch the heart of Lithuania.
Mary Lee Dereske's passion is to show her world to others through her photographic images. Her photos have shown in several juried New Mexico art shows. She gives back by donating her art to non-profits for raising funds through card sales or silent auctions.
