This is a photographic essay telling the 2010 Sonora Monsoon story. Jim Witkowski, has captured a season of photographs and then selected the twenty-four images that best tell his story. The backdrop for his essay is the plains west of Phoenix, where the sky dominates the landscape. It is an agricultural part of Maricopa County like all of Phoenix used to be. Even this remote farmland is threatened by the slowly westward march of new suburbs. Enjoy the beautiful images of the Sonora Desert's wet season.
Although I’ve been a photographer for 40 years, I didn’t really fall in love with the art until 2002 when I sat down and learned about digital processing. The past eight years have been the most productive in my career. Part of being productive is learning about new processes, products and about my work.
