Artist Michael Barrett draws inspiration from his experience as a former U.S. Marine, cancer survivor, and college athlete. Echoing the conflict situations created by artist Howard Fried, Michael incorporates the body as the site, subject, and relic of his happenings while negotiating situations in which corporality and gender are pushed to extremes.

Michael's work is currently represented by Trifecta Gallery in Las Vegas, Nevada.
