Ignoring most of the iconic images that define Chicago, this book focuses on the (many times) unnoticed simplicity of the city, the minimalist thread that seems to hold it together. These flat surfaces and repeating patterns provide a sturdy foundation for this innovative and stubborn city.

I currently teach Graphic Arts at Lincoln High School in Portland, Oregon.
I grew up in Central Oregon. After earning Bachelors degrees in both Art and Art Education I moved to Chicago, where I taught in public high schools for several years. Along with a friend, I also opened and ran an art gallery – 4Art Inc. – for two years.
My art and photography is still developing, but in general, it usually focuses on subtle urban forms, the power of nature, and often the interplay between the two.
