About the Book
Exploring British culture, I have discovered that our lifestyles have not changed as much as we think when it comes to leisure time, and how we socialise. Documenting British culture through the lens, I have offered you three series, looking at the seaside, fish and chips and Sunday dinner. I offer you images with inspirations taken from some outstanding photographers, including the documentary pioneer Martin Parr, single-minded photographer Ed Thompson and spontaneous photographer Eric Weiss. This book shows my own attempts at Documentary, I have aimed to ‘capture the moment’ and have tried to be spontaneous, looking at the relationships between my family as they sit at the dining table, people enjoying the fair at Porthcawl, and people purchasing chips at Rossi’s, possibly the best Fish and Chip restaurant in Swansea. Nothing here is posed, as Eric Weiss has stated:
"Good photography is a science, Great photography is an accident"
