When I first saw pictures of the "wave", a 190 million year old formation of sandstone carved by wind and rain, I knew I had to go there. But it would not be as easy as setting aside a few days to travel. Access to it is tightly controlled to preserve the formation and 10 permits each day are issued by a online lottery system that runs monthly. I submitted my $5 each month for over a year and recieved rejction after rejection until one day the orange permit showed up in my mail! I had won!!!
When I shared the news with my friend Wesley, he said his bags were already packed, and we were off for a 4 day adventure to the Wave, with a stop by White Pocket and Zion on the way. It turned out that most of our shooting was done at night, under the full moon, and thus "Midnight Sessions" was born.

Wonderful photography! I too have wanted to visit this area but by the sound of it, it may not be easy. It is truly a magical place and it is a good thing it is protected. You have captured some beautiful moments.
