25 years of concert photography
by Arny Raedts
About the Book
Dutch photographer Arny Raedts (1965) sold his first photo for a couple of Deutsch Marks to a punk fanzine in 1986.
Since then the pay didn't get any better, but he kept on shooting. Not from the side line, but right there in front of the stage, in the pit, where the action is. Mostly with a wide angle lens, band and audience equally important.
Dodging stage divers, getting kicked in the head, camera gear soaked by beer and sweat. Arny didn't mind if the music was loud, fast and dirty.
His work has been published in international magazines like Rolling Stone, OOR, Focus, Columbus, Elmore and Zoom.
LOUD is a retrospective of 25 years of concert photography. A document of underground r'n'r from bands like Gories, Sonic Youth, Oblivians, Pavement, Mudhoney, Reverent Horton Heat and numerous others.
Dutch photographer Arny Raedts (1965) sold his first photo to a magazine in 1986. A badly exposed snapshot of a punk concert. Since then his work got better, much better. At least that was the opinion of the editors of international music magazines like Rolling Stone, Elmore, Westzeit and Oor in wich his photo's were published. In 2001 he started his own firm ArnyZona Photography. His work was featured in numerous photo and travel magazines like Focus, Zoom, Columbus and can be seen on book and cd covers.
