Forward from Barren Ground is a collection of poems that will take you through the journey of a poet's development. From the early inspirations of a grade school mind and the reaching attempts at overly-verbose poetry of a middle schooler to the angst of a struggling teenager and the comfort and solace found in college free verse, you will laugh and cry alongside Carroll in her attempt to define poetry and rise from the Barren Ground of her inner struggles as a growing adolescent and artist.
Bobbie Carroll is a student at Brigham Young University - Idaho majoring in English Education. She dreams of being a children's author, owning her own bed and breakfast or ice cream shop, and/or being a motivational speaker. She loves people, words, and her Heavenly Father. She has a passion for poetry, a love for children, and a zest for life. She hopes to be a wonderful wife, mother, teacher, and writer some day - and to change the lives of those around her, one small act of kindness at a time.
