About the Book
In September 2010, ten men took a trip
on a boat to the Mentawai Islands in
Indonesia. They all went searching for
different things, though mainly it was for
perfect waves and a 40th Birthday.
This book celebrates a surfing life.
A month or so after the trip within this
book, a tsunami smashed through the
Macaronis surf camp, destroying the surf
camp and two charter boats.
The D’Bora went to the resuce, and in
the following days, Tom Plummer and
crew went to the aid of the Mentawai
people and the surfers on tour.
While the time on a charter boat is
relatively short, the memories that
remain from an Indian Ocean adventure
last a lifetime.
Those within this book survived Surfing the Chain Of Fire, so join them in this celebration and let the images within take you on a journey.
As the Mentawai people say
“Apo Lai Bung?”!
