Like life, my photography is an on going series of events and images. I have a problem defining when to finalise a series of images. It’s so hard that I have decided to never stop a series. So I have come to the conclusion that all of my work will continue until the day I die, it’s that ease and that difficult. Therefore the images in this fine art photography book are just a beginning and hopefully my last book will be published after my death.

This book “staring at the sea” is a body of work that I started working on in 2006. The series in this book; Approaching Silence, Seascapes and Winterscapes have two common dominators – water and air.

This book is also available as a limited expanded edition with the series Reflections and Zen. Please see for more information.

Thank you for your kind words Jonathan. And yes, they do exist as fine art prints. Just point your browser to and you will see even other series of fine art photographs that are not in this book. As you may have seen, there are two other books that I published as well. And again thank you for your kind words.
Kind regards
Karl Henrik

Beautiful images, and conceptually intriguing. It is easy to become lost in the repetition of the horizon, in the best way. I wonder, do these exist as prints? They could be absolutely stunning.
