This book contains over 600 images taken during a visit to Peru in September and October 2010. The combination of the images and extensive background information provides a good general overview of Peruvian society, history, culture, and politics. Major archaeological sites, including those of the Moche, Chimú, Nasca, Inca, and Colla cultures, are covered as are structures dating from the Colonial period and more recent times. Particular topics of interest are discussed in short essays or in separate information boxes. Maps are also included to show the locations of all the places visited.
