About the Book
Martina Galvin has over a number of years completed a photographic project on the interior of Aldborough House, having unique access to the house for 4 years. The work is a documentation of this historical abandoned house, as well as being individual artworks that exist in their own right. They are delicate and quiet, a journey through the poetry of the interior space. Aldborough House is amongst the most important surviving historic houses in Dublin. Located on Portland Row, beside the Five Lamps, it was the last great mansion to be built in Dublin city during the second half of the 18th century. It is a listed building with some important architectural features, notably the Great Staircase of stone.
