Nikki Johnson has exhibited widely in the US and Europe. Johnson holds a Masters degree in Photography from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY as well as a Bachelors of Fine Art degree from Mississippi University for Women. Her work has been published in Art in America, DIF Magazine, Time Out New York, and Hustler. She devotes her work to recording the lives of people who re-invent themselves. She divides a large part of her images between what she terms "passive-aggressive" portraiture and self-portraiture and an ongoing series of documentary images from around the world.
