"POETRY solace in the sea" is book three in my series of poetry. These poems were written during the years 2001, 2002 and 2003. They follow "POEMS from a place in my heart" and POETRY profile in ashes" which respectively span the time just prior to, and two years after, the death of our 19 year old daughter, Anna.

Solace in the sea takes a leap in the healing process, but not without looking back to embrace what has happened, and learn the value of the experience.

The oceanside, more than any other place, sets a great healing in place and causes it to fill the soul. Often I observe my environment and offer description as though I were painting instead of writing. I have painted for many years before I began writing. As an artist would, I understand the world through its composition and color, light and texture, and I hope my readers experience a bit of that consequently.
