Tom La Fontaine was an extremely talented and prolific artist right up to his death in 2007 at the age of 91. He worked mainly in oils and was commissioned by many well known people to paint portraits of people, families, horses, dogs and many other subjects - both real and imagined.
His work has been mistakenly attributed to the famous artists Stubbs and Munnings and he even had a sitting with HRH Prince Charles for a polo picture that was presented to the Queen. Although his home was in England he painted pictures throughout Europe and was a regular visitor to the USA were he painted pictures for many well known families including racehorses such as Seattle Slew.
