About the Creator
Anna's artworks are informed by 8 years of travelling that most memorably led her to working in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, Canada. Her painterly collages produced shortly after this period reflect on her time spent working in this demonised community - entrenched with substance misuse, poverty and prostitution. On returning to England Anna found that popular culture had moved on rapidly with terms such as WAGs and the obsession with celebrity culture requiring explanation. There began a new theme to explore - an over stylised, hyper-sexualised society that appeared to promote raunchiness to it's young. Anna began exploring children's toys with the lens of her camera. Through re-presenting these familiar objects she hoped to spark enquiry into what she found to cause uncomfortableness at the very least. During this time Anna achieved a First Degree in Fine Art from the University of East London. Anna now works as a freelance artist specialising in Action Art Mono-printing.
